The north of England’s premier concours, the Cheshire Concours d’Esprit, returns to the Gold Cup this Sunday (28 July) with a display of iconic pre-1973 machinery. Now in its eighth year of running, the Cheshire Concours d’Esprit will once again champion vehicles defined by their character and history, with judging based on more than just polish and gleam.

A number of prizes are up for grabs across several classes, including the overall ‘Car of the Year’ award, the ‘Mercury Trophy’ for the best pre-1940 thoroughbred sports car and the ‘Cheshire Life Trophy’ for best post-1945 thoroughbred sports car, among others.

An impressive entry list promises more than 50 stunning vehicles from automotive history. This will include examples of the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso, Lamborghini Miura, Ford GT40, Maserati 8CM and Morgan Aero. And there will be many others too, rounding out an impressive show.

This established feature of the Gold Cup will be the perfect accompaniment to the event’s 70th anniversary celebrations this weekend.

Tickets are available for just £26 each day with reductions for 13-15-year-olds and free entry for under-13s. For more information, click here.
