Oulton Park’s signature Historic Gold Cup celebrates its 70th anniversary with three days of nostalgic entertainment this weekend (26-28 July), with showpiece Saturday and Sunday race days.
Track action will be overseen by the Historic Sports Car Club, with a curated selection of races including powerful Formula 5000s in the Derek Bell Trophy, and Historic Formula 3, which will compete for the Gold Cup trophy.
Further highlights will include the Historic Grand Prix Car Association, plus Historic Formula Junior and grids from Motor Racing Legends, the Cooper 500 Owners Association, Classic Sports Car Club, Vintage Sports-Car Club and Ferrari Club Classic.
There's also an extensive off-track show. Car displays, vintage music, a special Oulton Park exhibition and much more will add to the distinct flavour of this key social fixture on Cheshire’s automotive calendar.

Located at the end of the long start/finish straight, Old Hall provides high drama and tension at the start of the race plus overtaking attempts as the event progresses. You’ll also see duels take place on the run down the hill to Cascades.

One of the slowest corners on the track, you’ll see plenty of passing attempts as the field heads out of the fast Druids corner and down the long straight. It’s also the final corner on the circuit, and the scene of many last lap dramas.

This is one of the most exciting spots on the whole Oulton Park circuits as the cars rapidly decelerate from the high speed hill top straight into a tricky little chicane. This is one of the best overtaking spots on the circuit!

2024 marks a very special year for Historic Formula 3 as the category celebrates it’s 60th anniversary. These evocative ‘screamers’ competed across the race tracks of Europe between 1964 and 1970.
Featuring classically-modelled single-seater machines from the pre-slicks-and-wings era of the sport, this will hark back to a time when the International Gold Cup was a regular non-championship fixture on the annual F1 schedule.
Fire-breathing Special Saloons and Modsports join the Gold Cup line-up, courtesy of the Classic Sports Car Club. Expect an eclectic mix of some amazing machinery.
For Formula 5000 and Formula 2 single-seaters built and raced between 1967 and 1979. This is the series for the more powerful cars with wings and slick racing tyres. It encompasses classes for Formula Atlantic and later Formula Three and Formula Ford 2000 cars.
For Touring Cars from 1966 to 1990, Including Group 1, Group 2 and Group A cars.
The Ferrari Club Classic is an exciting multi-class racing series from the Ferrari Owners’ Club of Great Britain featuring a wide variety of Ferrari tipos including Mondials, 308s, 328s, 348s, 355s and more.
The FJHRA Formula Junior Championships are booming, with huge worldwide interest in the category for up to 1100cc single-seater racing cars. Although Formula Junior only existed from 1958 to 1963, it continues to be one of the most popular of all historic racing categories.
The Vintage Sports-Car Club will bring two grids of classic cars from motor racing's pioneering earlier years to the Gold Cup.
The 500 Owners Association Championship is for competitors participating in 500cc single seater racing cars which were built in the period 1946 to 1960.
Classic and vintage car clubs from around the country will make their way to Oulton Park to display their magnificent machinery. Applications are now closed.
The Cheshire Concours d'Esprit will return in 2024, featuring a collection of extraordinary pre and post war sports-cars, each well used and with a fascinating story to tell. This is not a typical concours full of polished 'garage queens' - rather every one has character worthy of the description "spirited" with a unique story to tell.
Relive the history of Oulton Park circuit in this one-of-a-kind art installation at the Gold Cup. There will be displays of art and photographs that document the history of the much loved venue as well as unbelievable archive footage from 1953, the year the circuit opened!
The life and career of iconic Demon Tweeks founder and racer Alan Minshaw will be celebrated with a special display of cars from his career. These cars will also take part in a special on-track demo during the lunch break on Saturday.
In a fitting tribute to the late Alan Minshaw, ten renowned cars from the esteemed Minshaw family collection will grace the Oulton Park International Circuit at 12:45 PM on Saturday.
Throughout both Saturday and Sunday, the Gold Cup will give you the experience of hearing sounds from the roaring 20s to the swinging 60s. For details of artists and timings click HERE.

Returning after a spectacular inaugural attendance in 2023, the Gold Cup will feature a display of vintage tractors from the 20s all the way through to the 70s. Owners will be around to offer more information and answer any of your questions.
For the first time, The Gold Cup will welcome The Cheshire Steamers, showcasing a remarkable display of miniature steam engines. Enthusiasts and visitors will have the unique opportunity to interact with the owners, who will be available to offer more information and answer any questions you may have.
After the enormous success of the Youngtimers display in 2023 this year’s Gold Cup will be expanding the incredible line up of cars. A curation of classic vehicles from the 1970s’ 80s’ & 90s’ will once again take the main stage!
Alongside the beautiful classic cars, hundreds of sports cars and supercars from more recent times will line the infield of Oulton Park bringing together an amazing array of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, Jaguars and Porsches!
The Jim Clark Trust will be making a return to the Gold Cup, showcasing an impressive collection of memorabilia from Jim Clark's illustrious racing career. Attendees can look forward to exploring a diverse array of items that celebrate the legacy of the legendary driver. In addition to the memorabilia, there will be a wide range of merchandise available for purchase.
The North West Vehicle Restoration Trust will be hosting a captivating display of classic buses, meticulously restored to their former glory.
Perfect Acceleration will be in attendance with simulators for you to experience driving the Oulton Park circuit. including the famous Demon Tweeks BMW E30 M3. Sessions are £10 per person.

On Sunday morning visitors will be able to get up close to magnificent machinery in the pit lane and meet the drivers moments before they commence battle on the famed Oulton Park tarmac.
The paddock is open to all, allowing you to stroll through the 100s of classic tin top and single seater racing cars before they take to the circuit.
A trade area will be in operation all weekend with stalls selling parts, accessories and merchandise.
Check out the Oulton Park adventure playground near to Chequers restaurant, which has equipment for children of all ages from toddler to 14.
All general parking is free of charge. Blue badge holders may park free of charge inside the venue in the disabled parking and viewing area on the inside of Knickerbrook corner. If you hold a blue badge, please follow public signage for disabled parking, or speak to a member of staff upon arrival.

The campsite opens at 12pm on Friday 26 July and closes at 8pm on Sunday 28 July.
Campers are welcome to stay on site until midday on Monday; however only limited facilities (just toilets and showers) will be provided beyond 8pm on Sunday.
Please note you will need to be in possession of a valid weekend admission ticket/pass in addition to a camping ticket in order to gain access to the campsite.
